Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions.

FAQ - AERATION

How do you determine the oxygen requirement for my treatment basins?

Thanks to studies carried out by the independent firm GSEE, we are able to accurately calculate the oxygen requirements of each of your wastewater or leachate treatment basins. To do so, complete the aeration needs form and send it to our team !

When should I see results?

If aeration has proven to be the solution to your problem, it will necessarily give results. The time will depend on various factors such as: the organic load, the depth of the water body, the water temperature, the number of diffusers and injected air etc … When specific aeration needs and physicochemicals data are provided by the customer, the oxygen requirements assure you an effect which will be seen quickly.

Do you offer turnkey solutions?

Absolutely! We can take in charge your project from the conceptualization stage until it is installed.

FAQ - DEICING

It’s fall and I have a big deicing project for this winter. How quickly can you set up the system?

We have often had to work with very short deadlines on large-scale projects. We will have to assess the outside temperatures at the site to see if an installation will be possible before the ice forms.

If the project has already been tendered and drawn before and you are ready to move forward, the lead times may vary between 1 and 2 months so that we can receive and assemble the necessary material. In addition, these projects often require the mobilization of one of our teams on site to supervise the work.

If this is a medium to small scale project, it is often possible to complete delivery within 2-3 weeks after the purchase order.

Are there specific items of equipment to consider for the proper functioning of a deicing system?

What is important to consider when planning a deicing project is to avoid any risk of pipes freezing and to install your compressors in a suitable location for winter conditions.

The Bubble Tubing®  and the submerged Torpedo™ tubing do not risk freezing since they are designed to stay at the bottom of the water by their own weight.
What to watch out for are the compressors and non-submerged piping that supplies air to the diffusers.

In fact, the compressors must be installed at least in a place protected from rain and snow and must be adequately ventilated according to the number of HP and heat developed.

Depending on the locations and projects, we might suggest that you equip the compressor with an air dryer to prevent water condensation in the piping. You could also bury or insulate non-submerged piping or equip the system with heated pipes for lines outside the water.

How long does it take to deice with the Bubble Tubing®?

Deicing by installing a Bubble Tubing® diffuser at the bottom of the basin works by creating a stream of water from the bottom to the surface which, in winter, brings the warmer water from the bottom to the surface, which has the effect of melting ice.

The time to completely melt the ice on the surface varies depending on the thickness of the ice and the outside temperature, but our experience shows that, in general, ice melts at a rate of 2.5 centimeters (1 inch) per hour.

FAQ - BUBBLE CURTAINS

My bubble curtain project is in the river how to make sure that the tubing will not be washed away by the current?

The Bubble Tubing® designed for the realization of bubble curtains is made of dense PVC and a stainless steel cable. The cable is used, among other things, to increase the weight of the pipe to allow it to sink to the bottom of the water in salt water but also to secure the Bubble Tubing® in order to immobilize it despite a current of water. You can use clamps, chains and blocks to stablize the tubing. Talk to our engineer team for the best solution.

FAQ - INNOVATION ET DEVELOPMENT

Do you do research projects jointly with universities or scientific research institutes?

Yes, we sometimes do research jointly with partners such as universities and research centers. We find the right partners and target research that is of interest to us and the development of our fields of application. If you have any ideas to share with us, please contact us.

FAQ - SERVICES

What services does Bubble Tubing® offer?

In order to serve you well, we offer:

  • An engineering department linked to the development and planning of your projects
  • An Autocad designer
  • An installation, repair and maintenance team
  • A team of project managers ready to look into your files
  • Biologists to support the lakes, ponds and basins fields
  • A demonstration pond to see our Bubble Tubing® in action
  • Partners located in different countries to answer your needs locally

Are you doing the installation?

As soon as the project is at a construction, commercial or mining site, we do not do the installation but oversee the installation. The installation must be done by an accredited company that can comply with the standards of the site, province and country where the installation takes place. We always oversee projects to ensure project quality and success but do not install compressors or piping.

My equipment requires repair or maintenance, how should I proceed?

Call us and speak to one of our industrial sales representatives. We will be happy to tell you how to proceed for a repair in the workshop, at the installation site or for maintenance by one of our technicians.

What are the possible delivery methods?

As the systems offered are often bulky, we take great care to properly pack and secure the coils of tubing and other materials. We deliver regularly by plane, train, ship and road transport; it all depends on your schedule!
